ASTRAL is a European Union Horizon 2020 collaborative project that focuses on integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA) farming.
Our aims include defining, supporting, and promoting this type of sustainable aquaculture production across the Atlantic area.
The ASTRAL Consortium includes 16 partners and two associate partners from ten countries namely Norway, Scotland, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Nigeria, South Africa, Argentina, and Brazil.
NIOMR is a Lead Institution for the task on Human Capacity Development, a major focus of the ASTRAL project which is Aquaculture and Ocean Science/Literacy.
